Guest Post: Mom of Two Boys

I'm happy to share this wonderful blog with you today :
Mom of Two Boys
Amanda (the mom) always has such wonderful posts about her boys, favorite finds, crafty things, giveaways, and more. I encourage you to check her blog, I know you will enjoy it!

Hi, I am Mom of Two Boys...
I am always anxious to find new things to do with my boys that won't break the bank so here are some of my ideas for the Fall Season...

Visit your local pumpkin patch...
The one we visited this year only cost our family $5!!
They often have things like corn cribs...
 Corn Maze...
Hay slides and rides and more...

Go to local Fall Festivals...
We go to all the parades and festivals...
It became a tradition with my own parents and we continue this with our children.
Often they are free or very inexpensive and have things like petting zoos and other child friendly activities.

Play with sidewalk chalk...
I love that it is no longer HOT outside and we can play...
Last week we drew a city on our driveway with sidewalk chalk and play hotwheels.
Even the neighbors came over and enjoyed.

Make s'mores...
We use our gas grill to roast marshmallows and make s'mores.
The boys love putting the chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows together.

Go to garage sales...
As a family we like to go to garage sales on the weekend now that it isn't so HOT.
We find all sorts of goodies and my three year old is always on the lookout for Hot Wheels.

Paint Pumpkins with your kids...
A small pumpkin can cost you less than a dollar and I am certain most of you have child friendly paint at home.
Put on your painting clothes and let the kids go to town (outside of course).
After we are done and the pumpkins dry, I find a place of distinction for each creation.

Clean out the toys...
We just went through all our boys' toys to make room for Christmas.  It will be here before we know it.
The boys had fun playing with stuff they forgot they had and then we donated them to our local Goodwill.
Telling them we were making room for new stuff from Santa helped donating go smoothly.

Be Creative...
It doesn't have to be planned or some huge event.
Some of our very best times with the boys are unplanned adventures...
Hunting Grasshoppers
Practicing STOP, DROP and ROLL
Filling an old baby bathtub with water outside and letting the boys play
Visiting a school playground rather than a park because they tend to be less crowded

In the end...the best thing you can do for your children is to spend time with them...

I love your suggestions, MOTB! They are right on target. I think yard sales, garage sales, thrift stores, etc. are GREAT outings for parents and kids because it's a treasure hunt of sorts and you can always find something interesting to take home cheaply!

Love these ideas. We so need to make room for Christmas toys at our house.
