I had a baby shower to go to a few weeks ago, and I wanted to bring something special. I had some left over diapers from my son that were too small for him. I thought I would tackle making a diaper wreath since I've never made one before. I've made a diaper cake before, but the wreath is much easier and you use a lot less diapers.
Since there are no places to buy wreaths in town (I live 2.5 from a mall... I know it's sad, but we do love it here!), I went on a hunt at my local thrift stores. I found a ugly wreath and I just took all the ugly off of it.
Here's what you need:
Diapers (I used size 2's)
Ribbon (I alternated 2 colors)
Baby accessories (optional)
This is my base wreath, styrofoam probably would be more ideal, but I took what I could get.
I took a diaper, opened it up and sandwiched it around the wreath.
Then I took a piece of ribbon and tied it in a knot. I continued that process all the way around the wreath until the whole thing was covered.
I added a piece of ribbon to hang it with and tied on a few baby accessories (wash clothes, pacifiers etc), and that's it. It didn't take very long to make and it was a big hit!
