Ribbon Canvas

Do you remember this picture from my bathroom redo?
I actually made 3 of these.
Here's the other two.

They are a super easy, fun way to add color to a room. I actually took the idea from Michaels years ago. I saw this same thing in a photo in their store, and did mine in different colors.

Supplies:

Canvas
Ribbon
Thumb Tacks
Paint (optional)

Here's what I did:

I painted my canvas a goldish color, and let it dry.
I bought my ribbon in different colors and a variety of sizes. Then I laid them out on the canvas and used thumb tacks to attach them. When I laid them out, I weaved some of them, and placed some of the smaller ribbons on the larger ones.

Here's a close up (sorry about it being blurry)

I had these in my bedroom a while back, and I had all three hanging on one wall together. I had a coral colored bedspread, so when I moved them, I simply replaced the coral pieces of ribbon with blue and green ones.
This is a really simple project that can add a lot of color to a room, or just a dab of color to a already colorful room.

I love this idea because I enjoy this style of art and I love ribbons but never know what to do with them. I saw your post on Making It With Allie and it's similar to my geometric art project that I linked up:

I'm now a follower of your blog!
