It was my dads birthday last week, we celebrated with a nice dinner, and cake pops! My dad's not really a big sweets fan, so I thought this would perfect dessert.
I've seen some pretty amazing cake pops out there.
I loved making these, but the best part was eating them!
Here's what you'll need:
Cake Mix
Cream Cheese Frosting
Chocolate for Melting
Lollipop Sticks
Sprinkles (optional)
Something to hold the pops in while they dry
(I used that green stuff you stick flowers into)
Here's the cake mix and frosting I used.
Bake the cake as directed. Let cool.
Crumble the cake into a bowl.
Add the cream cheese frosting. Mix it together really well.
Roll the mixture into small balls and place in the fridge.
You have to cool them otherwise they wont stay on the stick when you cover them in chocolate, and I say this from experience.
After the balls have cooled, put them on the sticks. Then melt the chocolate chips.
Dip the balls into the chocolate and then roll them in the sprinkles, and set aside to harden.
Mine didn't look super pretty, but the more I practice the better I'll get!
It's like the whole cake wrapped up into one bite.
YUM!
Enjoy!
